With Father's Day Around The Corner...Consider Investing In A Man-Cave For Him!

It's a trend we have heard about for several years now, and with Father's Day this weekend, why not consider investing in one or making one for Dad?! If he has been the best father you could ask for, show him a little love! More than likely, if we are looking at today's typical home process, he probably didn't have much a say in choosing the decor and layout of the furniture! I'm all for having a Woman-Cave, as I'm all for having a Man-Cave! That way your shared space is still your shared space, BUT you each have a room all to yourselves! Now, let's talk about some ideas that LIFE talks about with contribution from HomeAdvisor and Andrea Davis.

When it comes to deciding what to put in there and designing the layout of the room, you should ponder about what your dad likes and dislikes. Maybe he wants a room where he can just relax and watch tv, so consider putting in a big flat screen tv and a recliner, maybe a fireplace to keep warm and as a nice decorate piece. Maybe consider putting in a snack bar and a mini fridge filled with his favorite snacks and drinks. Throw a little side table by the recliner for him to put said yummies on and a pair of slippers in front of the recliner so he can immediately walk around in comfortably when he needs to get up to use the restroom or go to bed.
Maybe he's more of an entertainer. If that's the case, consider putting in a big flat screen tv in so he can watch the game with the guys or the season finale of The Walking Dead. Throw in a bar so he can have a cold one with the guys! Or consider adding in a pool table or poker table! All will surely make the room come to life!
Or, he might be a handy man! Try putting together a workshop for him where he can do work on his projects that may range from a chair to fixing up a car!
If he's the type that is curious to learn more and work his mind more,  put in bookshelves full of a variety of books, a table to do a puzzle on, and a coffee station with snacks underneath.

Whatever you decide on, make sure that it fits YOUR dad's lifestyle and make sure that it's something he'd truly love. He will more than appreciate your generosity and it will easily be make the gifts of all time lists! Happy Father's Day!

Light Up Your Kitchen

You can have the most beautiful kitchen in the world, but if it's poorly lit, you'd never know - what a shame! Avoid this common problem by installing appropriate lighting in your kitchen and dining area. There are two questions to ask yourself when you're adding lighting in to your kitchen: what kind of lighting will I choose, and where will I decide the lighting should be? #SolarSunday

Having a pool to cool off and relax in is a luxury that is especially nice during these hot summer months. But, like most luxuries in life, time, energy, and money must be put into owning a pool. One of the costs associated with having a pool is the money it takes to heat a pool. If you are interested in swimming in your pool after the sun goes down or during cooler months, heating your pool is a viable option to consider. Check out some information about how solar hot water collectors can heat your pool. How does it work? Pool water gets pumped through a filter into a solar hot water collector. Solar hot water collectors are thin and generally mounted on a roof. Thin pipes of water then run through the collector. When the sun's rays hit the collector, they heat the running water inside.
