Updated Project Photos!

We are happy to share with our followers some updated project photos for a Hamilton home being built using the panelized building method in western Massachusetts.  Even in the icey cold with snow and ice, Hamilton homes are going up all over the place!  Happy Friday!

Dealing with Adverse Weather During Construction

When weather conditions become an issue, it can be frustrating. Weather conditions can become an issue in a matter of a few hours, and there's virtually nothing anyone can do about it. Image your home is in the middle of being built, and then all of a sudden a snow storm hits your city. At that point, construction stands still, and materials risk being damaged or even ruined.  Panelized construction combats that risk by cutting down time.  Once the shell of your home is constructed, contractors can work on the inside of your home until weather conditions permit working on the outside. If you live in an area that gets a lot of rain or snow, this factor can play a key role in your home's timeline.

Chimney Balloon

Cooler nights are ahead, and with that thought in mind, it's a good idea to start checking some items off your annual to-do list. Now that you've likely put away some of your summertime household items (and don't fret if you haven't yet), it's time to prepare for the winter weather. One way to do this is by sealing off areas of your home that allow cool air in and warm air out. By blocking and sealing off places like doors and windows, you can be saving over 50% of your heating bill. Aside from some of the more obvious places such as doors and windows, there are some other miscellaneous areas that are money eaters during the wintertime. Your beautiful and beloved chimney can be a HUGE source of wasted heat. Watch this video we found helpful and informative for those who are searching for the right tool to block heat from escaping through a chimney.
