Panelized vs. Other Prefabs

Too often, people confuse panelized construction with other prefab builds, such as modular. As a proud panelized material supplier, we take advantage of every opportunity to help educate people on what panelized construction is, the benefits it provides, and the ways in which it differs from alternative construction methods.  Panelized construction is guaranteed airtight, quality product, as each piece is built in a factory that has a controlled environment.  Speed is the main advantage involved in the panelized process, but quality still remains the main focus, unlike modular builds that are exactly as you see them - a prefab box. There is less opportunity to customize a home because, with a Modular home, you get what you see. Higher grade materials are standard for panelized construction because there is so little waste. Modular homes are set with a crane similar to panelized, but they are constructed in whole, complete boxes, unlike panelized that is set wall by ...

How It's Made: Panelized Walls

In today's economy, contractors need to build more rapidly, provide home builders with cost-effective materials, and ensure that quality building materials are used when building a new home. The implementation of panelized home build kits makes all of these factors possible for home builders, and part of the secret is how the panelized walls are constructed. Image via Hamilton Building Services Image via Hamilton Building Services Panelized walls are pre-engineered wall panels customized to fit any home style. Because the panels are constructed in a factory with a controlled environment, the panels are never subject to adverse weather conditions, preventing the wood from warping or shrinkage. Additionally, the walls are comprised of recycled wood and they produce little to no "scrap," making them environmentally friendly.                                             ...

“Thanks for all you’ve done to help us build our Duplex in Cortland. We’ve enjoyed the entire process, beginning with our first meeting with Eric Barden and Steve Hollister. We were pleasantly surprised to learn you could work with our drawings. Once the deliveries began arriving on our site, we were impressed with the quality of the lumber. The panelized system turned out to be great for us because we did the labor ourselves. We were able to set the floor deck in one weekend, then set all of the wall panels the following weekend. The way the wall panels were placed around the floor deck maximized our efficiency. The deliveries were all on time and the drivers courteous. Overall, the process you took us through was professional, and you did everything you said you would. Steve was always available to answer our questions. We appreciate that you cared enough to visit our project, even long after the Hamilton material package was delivered. We look forward to recommending Hamilton...
