Three Step Thursday: Building Your Dream Home

Investing in a new custom built home can be both nerve-racking and exhilarating. In the pursuit to build your dream home we’ve highlighted the top 3 steps of the process.

Find Your Land: It’s important that you find that perfect parcel. You will be spending a majority of your time in your new home so it should attract to you and your lifestyle. Whether it is the location, nearby attractions such as parks, hiking trails, or restaurants, or simply the landscape views it offers, you want it to be a place you can relax and enjoy.

Choose Your Home Plan: While you explore many floor plans be sure to uncover the floor plan that will best accommodate you, your family, and every day needs. If you have children and pets maybe you will consider having a mudroom. If you or your loved one works from home often, an office space could be valuable. If you are someone who likes to entertain year round an open floor plan will be essential. Every home has its own personality, make sure your new home captures yours!

Select Your Décor: Your home is not complete without the finishing touches. After your floor plan is final, let the fun begin! From selecting your kitchen cabinetry, bathroom vanities, to fixtures, flooring and paint, set your creative mind free. Visit our Pinterest boards for inspiration!

While you go through the home building process please feel free to call our office or stop into our showroom located in Cortland, NY for more information. The Hamilton team is here to help you from start to finish and beyond!
