Is Your Home April Ready?

Spring is in the air, especially with a day like today! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the snow has (mostly!) melted. As March comes to a close, we're setting our sights on healthy homes. Houzz offers great tips and tricks on how to maintain a healthy home for this spring; we'll be spending the afternoon making sure that our homes are April ready. Here are our three top tips:

1. Monitor and Maintenance your gutter/downspout

Keep your home fresh and free of rot and critters by cleaning up your gutter or downspout. Victor Sedinger, a certified home inspector and owner of House Exam Inspection and Consulting, states that your gutters "should be clean and running free.. water is diverted away from the  house so that no water collects around the foundation." (Houzz, 2016)

2. Keep Mosquitoes at bay

West Nile Virus and the Zika virus are no joking matter. Keep the mosquitoes out of your garden this year by taking a walk around your property and take note of any standing pools of water. If you come across water, fit it and maintain it regularly to keep your property mosquito pool-free.

3. Sweep the Surface

Door handles. Light fixtures. Bookshelves. Tops of windows. How often do these get dusted? Now is a great time to give your home a deep clean, and be sure that every surface has been wiped down. Utilizing an all natural cleaning products creates a cleaner breathing atmosphere and a healthier home.
