Panelized vs. Other Prefabs

Too often, people confuse panelized construction with other prefab builds, such as modular. As a proud panelized material supplier, we take advantage of every opportunity to help educate people on what panelized construction is, the benefits it provides, and the ways in which it differs from alternative construction methods.

  • Panelized construction is guaranteed airtight, quality product, as each piece is built in a factory that has a controlled environment.
  • Speed is the main advantage involved in the panelized process, but quality still remains the main focus, unlike modular builds that are exactly as you see them - a prefab box. There is less opportunity to customize a home because, with a Modular home, you get what you see.
  • Higher grade materials are standard for panelized construction because there is so little waste.
  • Modular homes are set with a crane similar to panelized, but they are constructed in whole, complete boxes, unlike panelized that is set wall by wall.
